President of Cameroon announces candidacy for one more mandate:

Cameroon President Paul Biya has announced in tweeter he will be running for a seventh consecutive mandate, which will probably extend his reign till 2025.
This octogenarian ruler, commanded the destinies of Cameroon since 1982 as President and had previously directed the country as Prime Minister (1975-1982).
The elections are scheduled for October 7, and the main rival of Biya is Joshua Oish of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), which belongs to the main opposition party.
Meanwhile, the country is undergoing a period of serious turmoil, facing invasions by the Nigerian Jihadist group Boko Haram in the north and has also been the arena of conflicts in the Anglophone regions, northwest and southwest, between the army and radical separatist groups.
The main separatist movement has gained momentum since the end of 2017, engaging in attacks on law enforcement and security agents, burning schools, violating administrative symbols and kidnapping civil servants.
