European Union - migration: that won't do!

The Libyan coastguard has rescued nearly 1,000 migrants in several operations carried out this Sunday. People were on rubber dinghies heading for the Italian coast, when they were stopped by Libyan authorities  and taken to the port of Tripoli and also to Khums, a coastal town.

The rescue groups included hundreds of women and children.

This situation has been commonplace in recent days and has already generated a vigorous strife between Italy, which is under the aegis of a populist - nationalist coalition, openly defending an anti - immigration policy and the other two main "gateways" for Africans to enter Europe: France and Spain.

The latter recently welcomed more than 600 people who were at sea for several days, eventually allowing them to disembark at the port of Valencia, after several negative responses given by the Italian government.

This is yet another case of disunity from European countries, which, more than discussing the policies for the reception of migrants, should also develop and deepen many more mechanisms and ways to help these countries that are experiencing deep crisis, so that they are able to restructure more quickly, and in this way provide a decent life to its people.
